Zesty Old Bay Tartar Sauce
1 c. Duke’s mayonnaise
¼ c. sweet pickle relish
2 t. Old Bay Seasoning
2 t. fresh lemon juice
1 t. apple cider vinegar
1 t. sugar
½ t. onion powder
¼ t. ground black pepper
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, Old Bay Seasoning, fresh lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, sugar, onion powder, and ground black pepper. Stir thoroughly until all the ingredients are well blended.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tartar
sauce for at least 30 minutes. This step allows the flavors to meld together,
enhancing the overall taste. Once chilled, serve your Old Bay Tartar Sauce
alongside your favorite seafood dishes. It’s perfect for dipping shrimp,
dolloping on crab cakes, or pairing with a crispy fish fry.
This tartar sauce isn’t just for seafood. Try it as a spread on a fish sandwich, a dip for fried veggies, or even a tangy topping for grilled chicken. The versatility of this sauce makes it a must-have in your condiment repertoire
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator
for up to a week. The flavors will continue to develop over time, making it
even more delicious the next day. Just give it a quick stir before serving.

Nothing beats homemade tarter sauce! My mother would load hers up with pickles and onion. I haven't made any in ages and your version sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds very much like mine. And yes to using Dukes. It is the best!
ReplyDeleteYour meal looks very yummy Pattie! Very similar recipe to mine except I use dill relish with a touch of sweet relish. You can imagine my horror when Hubs came home with a squeeze bottle of tartar sauce the other day. He didn't want me to "waste" the Duke's to make homemade! Crazy talk. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis recipe is a keeper for sure. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello Pattie, Just happened on your post and was so glad to see you are still blogging. Looked thru all your recipes. Got some good looking dishes. That corn blueberry casserole sounds interesting, I have never heard of that, but will definitely have
ReplyDeleteto find something to make to go with that. Sound yummy.
Hope this find you doing well. I am still blogging too.
Blessings, Nellie
