I'm visiting from "Oh, My Hearts...Pattie,

I'm visiting from "Oh, My Heartsie Girl" mid-week link up. I'm not going to deny it, the image of your chocolate cakes sucked me in and I had to investigate which I'm glad that I did. I have no idea what Rogue Double Chocolate Stout is but if it makes a chocolate cake better then I want to know more! I will certainly look for this product. DH's bday is in July and he usually requests a chocolate cake for his special day, so that might be the time to try your recipe which I'm going to save. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure your daughter-in-law loved the cake and appreciated the hard work that went into making this gift of love for her birthday.

Curious as a CathyCathy Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01056276734145310231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4149560156205207645.post-76048517831754070052018-05-22T13:33:55.658-05:002018-05-22T13:33:55.658-05:00Oh my gosh Pattie, that cake really beat you up, d...Oh my gosh Pattie, that cake really beat you up, didn't it? Did you tell your DIL the story? ;)
This recipe is similar to one of my favorites by Nigella Lawson. I may love it because of her description of it in which she says things like "magnificent in its damp blackness" and the stout addition as a "resonant, ferrous tang". I made it one time about 8 years ago and loved it, so I don't know why I haven't made it again. Your frosting looks wonderful.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17786068334983762178noreply@blogger.com
