St. Pat's is popping
up all over the house this week, and this little vignette is but one of the
festive spots. I tend to like to corral things in baskets, not only
because this seems to be a popular thing to do, but also, just between you and
me, it makes it so much easier to dust when I can just shove everything from one side
of the table to the other.
The coffee table in the living room is a big one, so commands a large basket. I
generally only change it each season, but decided that I wanted to gather up
some of my favorite things in honor of the holiday.
It would not be St. Patrick's Day around here without at least one pot of
shamrocks, so it was the first thing to go into the basket.
The candlesticks are Irish Crystal and part of a pair given to me by Mr.
O-P on one of our first Christmases together.
I love Irish butter, so had to include this cute little cow creamer.
Irish coins, collected prior to the Euro, spill from a birdcage that used to
belong to my mother, and is perched atop a vintage World Atlas.
In the evenings when we sit together to watch something on television that is
agreeable to us both, I light the candles. There is just nothing like the glow
of candles to give off a sense of peace.
