I love to play with color when the weather
warms up. One afternoon found me
searching through all of the colorful fabric that I’d bought, with good
intentions, over the years when I stumbled upon this one. This particular fabric gave me a smile
as bold as the pattern, so I thought that today I’d get in touch with my inner
cowgirl. I’m not sure that all of the
colors work here as well as I’d hoped they would. The vases, I think, have to go, but setting
tables is about both joy and experimentation. I had a good time with this
one.
Fabric is a great
way to cover a table with something BOLD.
If you like fabric as much as I do – a real puzzle, I suppose, since I
don‘t sew – you might consider going through your stash to see what you can
come up with; consider layering or cross-crossing
narrower pieces. Go crazy! You’re the boss.
Since summer is
casual, I thought it would be fun to put the napkins and flatware in the coffee
mugs.
Some patterns,
such as this one, run just one way. When
used on a table, the people sitting along the side will be looking at the women
sideways, but then, come to think of it, don’t most men look at us women
sideways?!

Good Afternoon Pattie, I love the material you have used as a tablecloth, it is so vibrant. The theme is fun aswell, reminds me of the old cowboy films, where there was always a beautiful Mexican lady.
ReplyDeleteI love colour and use it in my kitchen and dining room. I love the wicker placemats, can you tell me where I can find them.
This is such a fun table setting and I think the blue vases look lovely.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Pattie.. Oh I love this fabric!!! My heart is singing with joy just seeing it. I. Must. Find. Some!!! Love the plates with this fabric. It just all seems to flow so well. You have a beautiful sense of color and style. Have a blessed Memorial Day. xo marlis
ReplyDeletePattie, me again.. can you share what the name of the fabric is.. it's usually in the selvedge... thanks :) xo marlis
ReplyDeleteI love the flatware and napkins in the cup. That's just a cute and casual way to present it. I couldn't agree more about using fabrics. I just don't don't know why I don't think to do that more often. I have quite a stash of them!
ReplyDeleteI love the material you used as a tablecloth! It is wonderful as well as are your plates! You set a fun table....I can't wait to see your next one. I will be back.
ReplyDeleteBlessings My Friend,
Daphne, the placemats are from Pier 1. I got them a while ago, but they are still available and, I believe, you can shop for them online.
ReplyDeleteMarlis, glad you love the fabric. I love to hear from people who get as excited about fabric as I do. This fabric is by Alexander Henry and is called Las Senioritas. You can find it on eBay. In fact, I was thinking about getting more and attempting to actually sew something and make placemats.
I thought the fabric was a vintage table cloth. It's wonderful Pattie.
ReplyDeleteI love this table!
The second I laid eyes on the tablecloth, I KNEW I was in for a treat! This is so colorful and fun, Pattie! I love it when a colorful pattern is used on the table that can be carried on to the rest of the elements!!! Mixing up the dishes a bit adds more fun and flair, and the woven placemats act as the "hall monitor" and kind of ground everything a bit. It's terrific! The centerpiece is casual, light, and totally appropriate for the casual air of the table. The color of those vases is electrifying!!!!! There are SO MANY movies the pattern of this tablecloth bring to mind...lots of them fun romps like "Cat Ballou",
ReplyDelete"The Cheyenne Social Club", and "McLintock" Outrageous fun...just like your table!
Lovely and playfun fabric pattern! Your tablecloth with the beautiful ladies is so wonderful to use as a theme. The layers of colored plates is perfect with the hues in the tablecloth. You have created a great cowgirl tablescape. Have a terrific weekend.

Pattie, I love your table, so much personality. I saw that fabric and I immediately thought of Marty Robbins singing El Paso!
