When my dad bought
his new extra-wide, high-powered snow blower last fall, I figured we were in
for a snow-free winter. Not so; we had our first measurable snow this week.
Inasmuch as I am more than ready to set my first table for spring, I decided to
make use of some of my favorite wintry goodies for the quick change from my Valentine's
Day table.
I kept the striped
placemats in place, topping them with round woven placemats from Pier One.
The often used
polka-dotted bordered plates with full winter design showing were more than
appropriate. I could have used that horse-drawn sleigh this morning.
I swapped the white
Alstromeria from the red Fiestaware pitcher into a neutral vase, and replaced
the white cups and saucers with these wonderful Williams-Sonoma Santa and
Sleigh mugs. Santa really isn't visible from the front, so these work
perfectly.
A plate of “Snowy Day Cookies” awaits consumption.
Stay warm!

Bonjour,
ReplyDeleteUne très belle table harmonieuse... J'adore vos jolis mugs blancs.
Gros bisous.
Very striking table, Pattie!
ReplyDeleteYour table is great! Super color scheme. This is the first time I've visited your blog. You mention the polka-dotted bordered plates are used often. I'll bet. They are terrific. Can you give any more information about them?
ReplyDeleteHope the snow is not keeping you from your appointed tasks.
Love your table, and your photos are wonderful. What type of lens and camera do you use? Everything is so pretty. Sheila@mykentuckyliving
ReplyDeleteLove your table. Perfect for a snowy day. Great plates.

Love your snowy day table Pattie! I've been treating myself to $4 bunches of of Alstromeria at the grocery store for some flower therapy, it's so long lasting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely table! I love those wintry looking dishes. I found a little mug with the same design except it was in color! I would love to sit down at that lovely spot. Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Great table! Love those plates.
ReplyDeleteOh, Sheila, this comment made me laugh. Camera AND lens? Nope, just a camera...a very old camera that I bought in 2004 and have been using daily ever since. It has traveled the world with me and I live in fear of something happening to it. The brand will surprise you, it's a Kodak DX6490 with a 10x optical zoom and Kreuznach Variogon Lens that came affixed. I bought it because I need something to grip and a viewfinder to look through. I have since had a Canon and Olympus (trying to find suitable backups should anything happen to my beloved Kodak), both of which hit the discard pile after a couple of months. This is the best camera that I have ever owned.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablescape. Just perfection!
ReplyDeleteWow dear Patti! Your tablescape is so creative and you started out with a stripe place mat and when up in choosing just the perfect dishes, specially the ones with the winter scenes...love it! I just pinned your gorgeous setting.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
Great table Pattie, I love your eclectic wintery mix! You combined so many unexpected elements into a very successful inviting tablescape! I love the WS mugs and that you smartly turned something Christmas into something winter~ we are supposed to get our first snow today, but should be a short lived event thankfully!
