I'm not sure how many people would agree with me, but I
find cleaning therapeutic.
When Mr. O-P passed way, I had a tremendous need to
clean and put things in order.
I think being able to physically align things
helped to offset internal chaos.
One of the things I felt a need to change was
the baker's rack in the kitchen.
It had become a source of visual chaos, having
accumulated many sentimental things to the point of being overwhelming.
I
wanted something fresh, new, and serene, so took everything off, cleaned it up,
and started all over again.
I love the new look, and it is so much more practical having things on it that
I actually use rather than just stare at. It still holds both old and new
favorite things, but also seems far less random and more orderly.

Looks great, Pattie! I recognize a few plates...wherever did you find the wooden pig bowls?
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
totally understand. I wish I were more organized. I recently unearthed some 'cantaloupe' bowls (they actually look like cantaloupes. I never used them because I thought they weren't flat on the bottom. They are, and they're fabulous, especially filled with fruit salad. Used them on Fourth of July.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a good weekend!
it looks really good...i guess we all have spots that get all cluttered up and every so often, must be straightened out.Good job, Patti
ReplyDeleteOh me too!!!!! The pig bowls!!! Love them! Where'd you find them?
ReplyDeleteAnd ditto on the cleaning. I've been known to de-clutter and re-clutter when loss happens. I think it's a girl thing!
So attractive Pattie! I love the farm animals mixed in with the earthtone plates and white, and the wooden pigs are just wonderful! This is one farmhouse look I really like!! I think decluttering and rearranging is good therapy, I admire your strength and courage.
