I always enjoy setting my first colorful table
of autumn, because it is really the creation of so many people, and brings back
such memories.
As you can see, there are layer upon layer of
things here. The oldest piece on this table is the pumpkin tureen and wreath of
orange berries that I bought more than a dozen years ago at a shop on Historic
Main Street in downtown Saint Charles (now, sadly, gone) called Oak Tree
Furniture one afternoon while shopping with my mother. I liked it for so many
reasons. First of all its practicality, because I always serve soup in the fall,
second, it lends at itself quite well to a gorgeous display of fall flowers(that you can see here), third, it’s narrow
enough to work on small tables as well as large ones.
If you find neutrals more pleasing than a lot of color, you will
want to see this "Whispers of Fall" Tablescape.

That really is so pretty and Fall-y, but I also like your Whispers of Fall one...which reminds me, I need to get a new tablecloth for the holidays and I am leaning towards a simple cream one - cream and beige buffalo check would be so great. Also, Pioneer Woman has a line of Fall inspired table paper goods at Wal-Mart I want to check out.
ReplyDeleteSo in love with that table. Particularly love the gingham cloth, the pumpkin tureen, the lidded pumpkin bowls, and the "house on the hill" plates - I love with anything that has a house on a hill (including an actual house on a hill). :)
ReplyDeleteLove how festive and inviting this table looks. Just in time for all the fall soup!!
