Those of us who love growing flowers and vegetables during the
summer, often struggle during the winter. The wait between growing seasons can
seem in interminable.
I grow a lot of plants indoors that I find very satisfying, but there’s
something extra special about growing my own food. For Christmas, number two
son gave me a mushroom
growing kit. If you haven’t tried one of these,
they are fascinating fun. Watching them sprout and grow (something that occurs
quite rapidly) is magical. Growing my own gave me a new appreciation for
mushrooms. I cannot wait to harvest and sauté them.

That's interesting. I have never tired something like this. Would love to see your update on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, unique gift!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful! I can imagine they are fun to watch grow. Do you have to pamper them in any way? Will they re-grow after you harvest? More importantly, what does Stanley think about them? ;)
ReplyDeleteLinda, You have to mist them twice a day using the little bottle that they enclose that you fill with water. They will be grow twice, and then you have to throw the kit away.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun! I bet it's so interesting watching them grow!
