South Pole Cookies

It's been ages since I last baked a batch of cookies.  I have a  handful of go-to recipes that are always delicious, easy to make and real crowd pleasers.  This recipe is one of them.

South Pole Cookies

1/2 cup margarine - (1 stick)
1/2 cup butter - (1 stick)
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2/3 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup white chocolate chips
2/3 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup pecans, chopped

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Cream the margarine and butter with the brown and granulated sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt and add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the chocolate, white and butterscotch chips along with the nuts.

Drop rounded spoonfuls of batter 2 inches apart onto a baking sheet. Bake the cookies until they're pale golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes.

Makes about 48 cookies.

  2. I love love love what butterscotch chips do to a cookie. I am so bad with cookies, I eat the dough until I am sick and then eat the cookies until I am sicker!!! These would definitely be candidates for that! Love cookies.

  8. Wow, you can't go wrong with 3 kinds of chocolate chips!! These sound amazing and I'm like Jacqueline, I'd be eating the dough until I was sick too, lol. Then of course I'd be eating the cookies warm from the oven. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I hope you have a great weekend!
