Polar Bear

Mint and chocolate is one of my favorite flavor combinations. When I spotted a recipe for a boozy coffee drink using both of those flavors I had to try it. The thing is, because math is not my strong suit, I ended up doubling the called for quantities when it came to the crème de cacao and peppermint schnapps, which ended up being a rather happy mistake, I can tell you. This is so good! If you’re looking for a way to stay warm this winter, this will do it.
Polar Bear

1½ oz. peppermint schnapps
1½ oz. white crème de cacao
4 oz. espresso
Whipped cream
Cocoa powder

While you’re brewing the espresso, pour your liquor into an Irish coffee glass. Get a festive one like I have, you can find them here. Once the coffee has brewed, pour it over the liquor, spritz on some cream, and dust with cocoa powder.

Nashville Bushwhacker

Recently I reviewed a unique cookbook called Ticket to Ride: The Official Cookbook by Alan R. Moon. If you haven’t yet, read that review, you can find it here. One of the recipes in that cookbook that turned my head was this adult milkshake/cocktail that is sooooo delicious. It’s easy to throw together in a mini blender, and goes down smooth.

  Nashville Bushwhacker

2 oz. dark rum or whiskey
2 oz. Kahlúa
2 oz. crème de cacao
2 oz.
Cream of Coconut
2 oz. milk
1 c. ice

Place in the bowl of a high-speed blender, and blend.

Garnish with whipped cream, nutmeg, and a stemmed cherry.

Blue Ghost

At the end of February I shared a review for the Krista Davis yet-to-be-published title, The Diva Goes Overboard that you can read here. Today I’m going to share with you a recipe from the previous book in the series, The Diva Delivers on a Promise. Davis includes recipes at the end of all of the books, many of which I have tried having read every book in the series of 17. This book had a cocktail recipe that I absolutely could not resist. More dessert than cocktail, this will be one libation you will never forget.

Blue Ghost
From The Diva Delivers on a Promise

One jigger (1.5 ounces) blue curaçao
One jigger coconut rum
One jigger crème de cacao
Vanilla ice cream

Pour the liqueurs into a mixer and add two scoops of ice cream. Blend and serving chilled martini glasses.
