Ever since the first of the year I have been on a real
disorganized organization tear. What I mean by this is that I am determined to
get as many areas of the house as organized as possible, but instead of
focusing on one at a time, I flit from one, to the next, to the next, to the
next, because I am easily distracted (like a lovable puppy). The late Mr. O-P
used to refer to me as “The Bee” because I would fly from one thing to the
other. That is probably the most apt description with which I have ever been
labeled.
Today I am popping in to tell you about one of my favorites. In the same way in
which I organized my fabric, I have also organized my cloth napkins. Previously
I had them in drawers, boxes, baskets, you name it, all over the house. Using
this method, I could not be happier. Having them all lined up in a file drawer
is a great way to store them all so that I can see what I have, and easily
match them to whatever dinnerware I have chosen to use. I have a lot of cloth
napkins, so I will be starting on my second drawer this afternoon.
If you’d like to do the same, clear out a file drawer, and grab yourself a handful of those hanging file folders. Line the file folders up in the drawer, and drape collections of napkins over them. Now get cracking!

Pattie this is such a great idea! I don't have that many cloth napkins; however I did order a few handmade flannel ones right before Christmas and remembered how much I love using cloth napkins. Mom used them when we had company, and they do make such a pretty table.
Being called a bee sounds better than "squirrel", which is the phrase quilters use when they are easily distracted from a current project. ;)
I can relate to your problem of being disorganized. In the last yrs. I have been organizing things. A filing cabinet can be recycled for many uses. I put my old filing cabinet in my shed. I use it to put my tools in. In the first drawer I put all my nails in cans, In the second drawer I put all my screws in cans, In the third and fourth drawer, I put my bigger tools such as jig saw, sander, sandpaper, hammer, extension cords etc. I find this very practical. I have an old house and there's always something to fix..
When I home in the Summer, I should take some photos and blog it.
I stay the Winter with my sister Annie south of Montreal. She comes home with me in the Summer and helps me in my flower gardens. I don't bake much in the Summer, I'm outside.
I plan to make a quilting next Winter. You have a nice selection of fabrics.
Take care. Thelma.
Such a smart idea, thanks Pattie!

This is brilliant Pattie and you can easily lift the individual folders out! Now I wish I had a place for a filing cabinet. :)
