I always consider Memorial Day to be the official start of
summer.(Don’t get me started on the stifling, sub-tropical, record-breaking
temperatures that we’ve had here…ALL MONTH! Just don't.) I like a bit of zing during the
summertime, so created this Spicy Jalapeño Ranch Dressing to drizzle on salads,
crudités, grilled corn on the cob, well, pretty much everything! I’m giving it
to you today, because you’re going to need it for the recipe that I’m going to
share with you tomorrow. I always find it best to make my own homemade Ranch
Dressing from my special mix (see below), but if you prefer not to do that, and
use the packet (I will not judge), you can just add the taco
seasoning, and pickled jalapeño. You’re going to love this one, let me know
how you use it.
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day, everyone!
Spicy Jalapeño Ranch
Dressing
2 cups Ranch Dressing, prepared with
Ranch Dressing Mix (see below)
1 Melissa’s pickled
jalapeño, seeded and quartered
1 teaspoon “Ultimate” Taco Seasoning
Place dressing, jalapeño, and taco seasoning into a blender.
Blend until creamy.
Ranch Dressing Mix
8 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
5-1/2 tablespoons instant minced onion
4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Stir ingredients together and store in a cool,
dry pace. To prepare, combine 2 tablespoons of the mix with 1-cup buttermilk
and 1 cup mayonnaise. This will keep for six months.

Thanks for the delicious sounding mix...we love ranch dressing. I usually add half sour cream and half mayo when making it. I am going to make this tomorrow and give it a try.
The dressing makes the salad for me and I'm always on the look out for something new- I like this twist - thanks
I was just looking for a ranch dressing mix. I am tired of buying the package! Love the jalapeno addition, and I will throw in some of my (quickly fading due to the insane heat) cilantro from my garden!
Marigene, I often add sour cream like you do. I was just completely out of it, and thought I would provide a basic recipe. I tamper with recipes all of the time.
Linda, I lament with you your bolting cilantro. I don’t even know why I spent money buying a plant this year. With the intense, record-setting heat that we’ve been having, it bolted immediately.
Judee, I agree with you about the dressing making the salad. I just whipped up a variety of different dressings this morning, and have a number of salads that I will be posting in the next couple of weeks. Keep watch!
This looks yummy & great for summer. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday. Hope to see you at the party next week!
