Last week I showed you my lily-white
table. This week the table is quite similar, but with
the addition of green by way of these lovely chargers gifted to me by tablescape
blogger Marigene Purcell of the In the
Middle of Nowhere blog. I cherish these plates. Having something
new and pretty to look at and work with cheered me enormously.
You first saw them last week, in their place of
honor on the Baker’s Rack during my redoing project that you can reacquaint
yourself with here. Marigene surely has the biggest collection of Bordallo Pinheiro that I have ever seen, in all shapes,
sizes, and colors, and is a real pro at mixing and matching them. If you want
to see some amazing tables, be sure to become a regular visitor of her blog.
Today’s table is to show
you just what a huge difference a small touch can make in changing up a table.
Now, not only was I fortunate enough to have received these charger plates, but doubly
fortunate in that I had a set of salad plates that matched, so I decided to use
both. The table goes from being serene to being quite bold with this simple
addition of patterned green.
The leaf plates with their
scalloped edges soften the earlier look, warming things up a bit.
I swapped out the Asian
glassware for the brown stemware that blends perfectly with this green and white
table.
Search your closets for something new to add
to your table and see what a difference it makes. And be sure to report back!
