Do you know what’s
great about birthdays (other than having them)?
The great thing about birthdays is having people who “get” you. People who wander from your Amazon Wish List with
reckless abandon, and come up with something on their own that they know will
delight you. My aunt and cousin did that
for me this year. They surprised me with
these beautiful chocolate brown dinner plates, the gorgeous pumpkin tureens,
and some beautiful fall salad plates (that you won’t get to see until November).
I absolutely love
this table. Not just because it is so
pretty and seasonal, but because it represents such thoughtfulness.
It’s a simple table,
really, combining both old and new, and made special by the standing fan napkin
fold that provides a bit of ruffled softness.

Your family obviously knows what makes you a happy lady...they have great taste, too. Beautiful fall table...from the paisley tablecloth up to the covered pumpkins. I really like the dark brown plates, a color I don't have in plates!

Wow, Happy birthday to you!!! Aren't you lucky to get such fab gifts! I am swooning with envy over those pumpkin tureens! My daughter actually has similar chocolate brown plates and she mixes them with cream, pale blue and pale green as you did, and they are so stunning! LOVE the pen and ink photo!!!
