St. Patrick's Day Basket Vignette

St. Pat's is popping up all over the house this week, and this little vignette is but one of the festive spots. I tend to like to corral things in baskets, not only because this seems to be a popular thing to do, but also, just between you and me, it makes it so much easier to dust when I can just shove everything from one side of the table to the other.
The coffee table in the living room is a big one, so commands a large basket. I generally only change it each season, but decided that I wanted to gather up some of my favorite things in honor of the holiday.
It would not be St. Patrick's Day around here without at least one pot of shamrocks, so it was the first thing to go into the basket.
The candlesticks are Irish Crystal and part of a pair given to me by Mr. O-P on one of our first Christmases together.
I love Irish butter, so had to include this cute little cow creamer.
Irish coins, collected prior to the Euro, spill from a birdcage that used to belong to my mother, and is perched atop a vintage World Atlas.
In the evenings when we sit together to watch something on television that is agreeable to us both, I light the candles. There is just nothing like the glow of candles to give off a sense of peace.

What a great tribute to the holiday! I like groupings in trays too and you are right it helps with the dusting! The coins spilling out of your mother's bird cage it so cute. I love that you have the Irish crystal candlesticks from Mr. O-P from Christmas long ago… what a nice treasure! Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello Pattie! Visiting from Kathleen's blog crawl :) What a meaningful centerpiece and a great idea to display it in a lovely tray. Gotta try that! We light candles almost every night too - especially during the dark months. Love that warm light.

This is a very clever conversation piece that you have created in honor of Saint Patric's Day. A bit of green and a bit of Irish memories. I love the Irish crystal candle holders, they really make the whole "tray scape" display very special.
