Come See the Hutch

When I first gave you a glimpse of my hutch (that you can see here), someone asked me if I was ever going to be showing the entire thing.
I had planned to do that long before this, but the light comes streaming in through the windows so brightly that it is quite difficult to photograph. I managed to capture a couple of good ones today, and thought I would share them with you.
This is the Tucker Wall Unit from Pottery Barn. It may not be for everyone, but it is just perfect for me.
All of my fun little goodies are in the hutch, and it pleases me to look at them.
I like to change it up with the seasons, and this year I am giving some thought to Chinese New Year. It really played right into my hands with 2019 being the year of the pig.
I have no idea why I have as many piggy things that I do, I never gave any thought to collecting pigs, just somehow accumulated them. (I didn’t realize until after I wrote this post that I had failed to photograph a number of my pig casserole dishes, but that will have to be for another time.) And I think I’m going to be needing these.
Because I’m showing you the hutch, I thought I would also take this opportunity to show you the chandelier that number two son gave me (and installed) for Christmas. The existing one was pretty awful, and it always bothered me. My son knew that, so he asked me last Christmas if I would like a chandelier for over the dining table. When I responded in the affirmative, he asked me what I had in mind. He knows me well, so I told him this: “You pick it out, but keep in mind, the weirder the better.” This is what he came up with and I love it. Steampunk to the max!
I hope you enjoyed this little tour. By the time you read this post I will have probably changed things up again! :-)

Your hutch is gorgeous, and I love the way you styled it. I was just thinking with some surprise the other day that I have no pig decor whatsoever, and I don't know why, because I rather like them. If we weren't planning a major move this year, I would get a start as soon as possible on remedying this oversight. I'm looking forward to seeing your pig-themed table. Take care, Pattie!

Oh wow I LOVE your chandelier! I guess I'm weird too then. ;)
Your hutch and content are just beautiful, and the fact that looking at everything gives you pleasure is wonderful. My "china" (no china in it!) cabinet holds all my beloved goodies, but when we moved I just unpacked everything straight from the box with no organization at all. Now it has all somehow gotten dusty, even though it is all enclosed, so I need to take everything out, wash it all, and put it back. You've given me some great arranging ideas!

After I saw your Chinese New Year tablescape, I wanted to do one but couldn't gather up enough items to complete it. I was born in the year of the Pig.(1947)....and I couldn't find a pig. Then I realized, I'm too late. So, I'm hoping to gather up enough in the next year to do one. (If I'm still around).. Also my daughter-in-law is Asian. My sister has a Chinese Fan collection, so I ended up doing a blog post of them.
Your hutch is lovely. It's nice to be organized.

I love the pig with the upturned tail and I have the same wooden pig as yours! I planned on painting it one day but still haven't gotten around to it.

Your hutch contains many wonderful things, Pattie, and the chandelier is so different and fun, and even more special that your son picked it out for you!

What a fun piece to have and style! You have inspired me to redecorate my baker's rack, which is currently full of a mish mash :) By the way, I have recently started collecting piggies, and LOVE your pig things! I think I will display mine on the baker's rack, thanks Pattie!
