Easter Table Magic: Whimsical Bunnies and Lavender Dreams

I'll confess: tabletop decor is my Achilles' heel. So when I spotted a sale at my favorite local gem, The White Hare (yes, that charming spot with all the unique finds), I couldn't resist popping in. The result? These adorable little white bunnies adorned with lavender flowers, paired with mini placemats that perfectly complement them. Together, they inspired this enchanting Easter tablescape that's equal parts playful and elegant.

At the heart of it all sits a stunning Fitz and Floyd ceramic Meadow rabbit, nestled amid the Valery Madelyn Lighted Easter Garland bursting with pastel eggs and daisy flowers. It's a vibrant centerpiece that captures the spirit of spring in full bloom. 

Layering is key here for that wow factor. Greenery placemats form the base, topped with Fitz and Floyd salmon-edged chargers. Next come the vibrant purple dinner plates from Tabletops Unlimited, followed by salad plates in the delicate Blanc Amelie pattern from Maison Versailles. Crowning each setting are those mini placemats with lush greenery and lavender blooms—aren't they just darling? And perched on top? A sweet bunny with matching flowers and those irresistibly long ears. Honestly, could you resist them? I didn't think so!

  

For drinks, the purple goblet glasses add a pop of color and versatility—they're perfect for water or wine. Meanwhile, the Portmeirion Sophie Conran Lavandula Ripple Mugs, with their subtle lavender motifs, are ideal for sipping coffee or tea.

A touch of sparkle comes from the Mikasa Opulent Mirror flatware, elevating the whole setup with its subtle shine. Nostalgia shines through in the glass chicken egg cups—vintage treasures from the '70s that my mom and I snagged on one of our shopping adventures. For now, they're holding decorative wooden eggs, but come Easter brunch, they'll cradle soft-boiled ones. The napkins, in a fresh green checkered pattern, hail from Pottery Barn, adding a cozy, farmhouse vibe. And with all the recent rain and gray skies, I've added long white tapers in green glass candleholders for a soft, daytime glow—because who says candlelight is just for evenings?

All in all, this setup promises a delightful way to serve Easter breakfast, blending whimsy, color, and a dash of sentiment. It's the perfect backdrop for creating new memories around the table.

Blossoming into Easter: My Floral Tablescape Makeover

 

Last week, I shared a serene, sage-toned tablescape and mentioned how “with only a few quick swaps, it can easily shift into bolder, brighter hues as summer draws near.” Well, summer may still feel far off, but with Easter just around the corner, I couldn’t resist giving that table a joyful, colorful refresh!

If you click through, you’ll see the transformation: the beautiful Bordallo Pinheiro geranium leaf bowls have been moved to the side, perfect now for serving a fresh spring salad. I cleared away the herb appetizer plates to let the stunning floral designs on the Portmeirion “Botanic Garden” dinner plates take center stage—they truly shine! 

I traded the sage napkins for vibrant floral ones from Pottery Barn that add instant cheer. Out went some of the glassware; in came my beloved salmon-colored water and wine glasses—purchased back in the 70s right out of college because I fell head over heels for them, and I love them just as much now. 

The large Portmeirion butterfly cups and saucers stepped aside to make room for Bordallo Pinheiro geranium leaf espresso cups—ideal for after-dinner coffee and a lovely echo of the cabbage leaf salad bowls.

  

Finally, I refreshed the centerpiece by blending last week’s cherry blossoms with a mix of soft pink and cranberry carnations plus alstroemeria. Voilà—a completely new, festive table is born! 

The best part? It really is that simple to transition from one season (or holiday) to the next with just a handful of thoughtful changes. Who else loves playing mix-and-match with their favorite pieces?

Dashing Hare Tablescape

 

This design is more intentional than my usual creations, embracing simplicity with a restrained palette of orange and green. Yet, its understated elegance speaks volumes. The foundation features a burlap tablecloth, paired with a sage-green gauzy runner, both carried over from last week’s tablescape.

 Initially, I hadn’t planned an Easter table setting, but a charming running hare weather vane caught my eye and sparked inspiration. I decided to make it the centerpiece—an element I often find the most challenging—and build an elegant tablescape around it.

The plate stack is a curated blend of heritage and style: Italian porcelain chargers with deep green rims, a cherished inheritance from my mother, layered with black and white polka-dotted porcelain plates, matching soup bowls (perfect for my avocado cucumber soup), mugs, and vibrant tangerine Fiestaware plates. Each piece harmonizes within the cohesive color scheme.

One of the highlights of this tablescape are the whimsical carrot-shaped salad bowls, which never fail to spark conversation. They’re versatile—ideal for a carrot salad, a warm carrot soup, or even a creamy carrot dip, as I’ve served in the past. Their playful charm elevates the setting.

Bold orange flatware delivers a striking accent, while checked green napkins from Pottery Barn soften the look with subtle sophistication.

The greenery encircling the soup bowls is from a local shop; this is complemented by whimsical faux carrots. The green glassware, sourced from Villeroy and Boch, adds a final touch of refinement.

  This tablescape strikes a balance of simplicity and appeal, suitable for all tastes and versatile enough for Easter, spring gatherings, or summer occasions. It’s a testament to how minimal elements can create a memorable dining experience.

“Saucy” Bunny Tablescape

I hesitate to call this my Easter tablescape, as its allure feels expansive enough to carry through the entire spring season. What captivates me about Easter table settings—and what I’ve intentionally infused here—are the exquisite pastel shades that echo the season’s renewal. Nothing delights me more than the sight of trees softening with fuzzy green buds or the vibrant push of spring bulbs emerging from the earth, and this design reflects that tender beauty.

  I’ve named this arrangement “Saucy Bunny,” a tribute to the Fitz and Floyd rabbit sauce bowl that reigns at its center.

 This cherished piece once belonged to my mother, who hosted unforgettable Easter brunches each year. Her signature blintzes, paired with a bing cherry sauce served from this very bowl, remain etched in my memory. It’s a keepsake I can’t bear to part with—too endearing to store away, it graces my home year-round. I briefly considered adorning it with flowers, but its simple, nostalgic charm convinced me to leave it as is. 

The table begins with a burlap light tan tablecloth, understated yet elegant, layered with a sage-green gauzy runner that adds a subtle hint of color and texture. Dotting the surface are my newest treasures: a set of green candleholders I acquired this year. Their timeless versatility promises they’ll shine through every season, not just spring.The place settings are a harmonious blend of style and sentiment. It starts with Pier 1’s iconic chippy white wooden chargers, a rustic foundation, followed by violet plates from Tabletop Gallery. Atop these rest Bordallo Pinheiro Majolica Green Geranium Leaf salad plates, crowned by Andrew Tanner’s Royal Stafford Clematis Floral Lilac Purple soup bowls. 

A ruffled lavender linen napkin from Solino Home peeks out beneath the salad plate, adding a touch of softness, while matching Bordallo Pinheiro geranium leaf salad bowls sit gracefully off to the side. Pfaltzgraff’s “Naturewood” cups bring an earthy warmth, complemented by Everest Global’s striking purple goblets that lend a regal flourish.

This tablescape is a celebration of subtlety and sophistication—its gentle hues and inviting design create a space where anyone would feel welcomed to linger.
